About me...I have both a BA and MBA in Accounting from Michigan State University. I worked for 7 years as a CPA before becoming a teacher. I also enjoyed several years as a full time mom. More recently, I earned a MAT degree from Oakland University. I am state certified to teach secondary mathematics and economics.
I am the mom of two teenagers, Matt is a freshman at MSU (go Spartans!) and Mary is a 10th grader. I believe this gives me a special perspective when it comes to teaching teenagers. I treat my students just as I would want my own children's teachers to treat them. I expect a great deal from students. I am strict, but I am fair and reasonable, and I genuinely care about every kid in my class. This is my 12th year teaching at Our Lady of the Lakes. I teach all of the high school Algebra courses at Lakes as well as Statistics and Economics. I am a teacher at Lakes because I love teaching, I love Lakes, I love spending my day with Laker teenagers and I LOVE MATH! If you need extra help...I am available in my classroom (room 256) both before and after school on various days. If you would like to see me before or after school, you can attend my office hours without an appointment. (See right.) I will be happy to arrange other times to meet parents and students - just email me or let me know at school and we can arrange a time.
